Commander's Check-In

Judah Epstein Reporting

Crew Physical Status:
Overall good. A couple of minor headaches; HSO recommended to drink additional water.

Time Departed/Returned from EVA:
No in Sim EVAs, but crew performed a recon of the area in preparation for the Sim.

Brief Narrative of Field Mission Results:
Crew has achieved a better understanding of the geologic area around the Hab.

EVA Data/Interpretations:
Crew exploration on foot and also in HabCar of the area surrounding MDRS.

Engineering/Hab Maintenance:
Water to toilet and water to inside potable tank are not refilling with the pumps. The lines are likely frozen due to the extremely cold weather.

Refill of inside potable tank is conducted via "bucket brigade" and input to toilet is with a bucket of potable water.

Report Transmission Schedule:
CMDR Check-in, ENGR, CMDR Report, HSO Report (~10pm)

Plans for Tomorrow:
Training in ATV, EVA, and Hab systems in preparation for the Sim. The Simulation and Food Study will begin in the evening.

Inventory:
N/A

Support Requested:
DG plans to refill the gasoline tank and bring a new hose for the potable water pump (and bring ATV oil?).

Miscellaneous:
Need questionnaires for the Food Study (along with specific 2011 Field Season Food Study protocol).
