Commander's Report
Virgiliu Pop Reporting
Yesterday night, after everybody duly sent their reports,
Haritina (yes, the same Haritina I mention in every report of mine -
she is multifunctional, and could work as a crew-of-one) took us
outside for yet another stargazing session. We saw the amazing Milky
Way prior to the moonrise - this is how the sky looks on Mars, as the
Red Planet has only two tiny captured asteroids, Phobos and Deimos, as
moons, then the commander returned to the Hab for the comm window (ah,
the joys of duty!). Then, after a spiritual movie courtesy of Dragos
(who is enjoying the desert as another step in his journey of self
discovery), we went to bed to the sound of tiny steps (courtesy of
Jerry the Martian).
The early (as in 'RoMars Early') morning was
uneventful and then the crew took turns at doing EVAs for building the
solar clock. Captain Cook then assisted Dragos in writing his daily
dispatch, fixed a quick soup (actually, two types: cheddar broccoli
and clam chowder).
Afterwards Betty, Haritina and Dragos performed
the main EVA of the day, while the captain fixed some EVA helmets. At
their return, the same captain (who was busy today) cooked Martian
Curry with potatoes, and wrote his report, eager to see yet again the
amazing Martian sky.
