Commander's Report
Virgiliu Pop Reporting
As usual, today's report begins with the events of yesterday
evening - after the comm window. We once again went out to perform
some naked-eye astronomical observations, and Dragos took some amazing
photos. The commander of the RoMars Expedition recommends him for a
Martian Pulitzer!
We then went to bed, and the commander woke up with
the smell of fried eggs, ham and mushrooms (Betty and Iulia woke up
earlier to prepare the breakfast and go on EVAs with Haritina, the
Sundial Maker).
The same scientists who cooked us breakfast then took
Dragos (who wrote his article for the 'Adevarul' newspaper) on yet
another adventurous EVA, to be inscribed with letters of gold in the
MDRS-ian Chronicles. At the time the commander is writing this report,
the two young ladies are down in the lab, analyzing the samples. What
a crew!
Did the commander sit idle? No - while the away team was on
the mission, Haritina and he went to the attic and cataloged the
freeze-dried supplies. Haritina then went to the Musk Observatory, and
Captain Virgil once again became Captain Cook.
We absolutely had to
have Romanian food today, as it's a national celebration back on Earth
- so the captain made a nice polenta ("Mamaliga'), with beef stew and
cauliflower. That's about it for today - if the skies are merciful,
we'll see the Milky Way once again.
