Commander's Report
Joshua V. Nelson Reporting
First day with all of the refit crew present. Jean was picked up by
Jim from Grand Junction and arrived at the Hab at around 2:00 PM.
Hab Maintenance proceeds as planned. GreenHab is mostly running, and
will be fully operational by Hab changeover tomorrow. Drinking water
system has been cleaned and is being filled with fresh drinking water
at the moment. ATVs are non functional due to the unusually long
period of inactivity. DG will be fixing in the morning. Wheel on the
front door has been removed for repair and will be replaced in the
morning. Webcams repaired and fully functional.
Opening crew will be sleeping in the Hab tonight for the last time.
Tomorrow night we will be sleeping in Hanksville at the Whispering
Sands as Crew 97 will be in the Hab. This will allow us to finish last
minute repairs before flying out in the afternoon of the 2nd.
One package arrived for the NASA Ames crew and will be placed in long
term storage with the permission of the MDRS Chief Engineer.
The Gasoline tank is empty. DG will be filling it in the morning.
Food Study assembly is behind schedule. Jean and John will likely be
staying in Hanksville late tonight.
