Our greatest successes have been the result of members becoming active
within their own regions. Oppurtunities abound, from movie releases to
space launches, 4H club meetings to presidential campaign stops.
Events like movie booths and airshows are both fun and effective. More
over, what elementary school teacher wouldn't jump at the opportunity to
get her students excited in space? By focusing on local efforts, we've
been able to get Mars-favourable language on the Republican national platform
and space language on the Democratic platform.
With little more support, we might be able to get them to do something
about it.
Getting Involved Interested in public or political outreach? The majority of the task force's national coordination is done through a number of mailing lists. However, outreach starts in the home. Most outreach activities are local in nature and should be dealt with on the local level. We are attempting to organize the materials to make these activities (meeting with congressmen or local schools, setting up information booths at space related events) as straight forward as possible. Please check our resource library for how-to guides and proven materials. If you have some materials you would like to share or have ideas for other useful materials please contact the webmaster. Want more information? Email Chris Carberry, Coordinator of the Outreach task force. |
