If you are using Winamp, you can use the following instructions to configure your browser to launch Winamp automatically. Similar instructions can be used for other players and platforms.

Browser Configuration for Winamp

Configuring your web browser to automatically launch Winamp with these links should be easy. First off, make sure Winamp has registered the .PLS file extension (Open Winamp, go the the Preferences, Setup Tab, and make sure PLS is selected in the listbox). Next, choose your browser:
  • Internet Explorer 3.x or later.
When you click on a link to a server, a dialog should open up asking whether to open or save. Select open and uncheck the option 'Always ask for this type of file'. Nothing more is required.

  • Netscape Navigator 3.x or later.
When you click on a link to a server, a dialog should pop up asking whether to save, cancel, or to pick an app to open with. Click on the latter button. When a box opens up for you to specify the program, type the location and executable of your Winamp (usually C:\program files\winamp\winamp.exe).

Online Mission Support

In addition to the Webcast, Mission Support operations for the Mars Desert Research Station take place online in the Mars Society Chapters Meeting Server. An observation room is available to listen in on the Mission Support operations. To access the observation room, connect to the chapters.marsociety.org MOO server on port 7777 with a MOO client and follow the directions to get to the Observation Room. For more details on where to find a MOO client and how to use the MOO server, go to http://chapters.marssociety.org/moo/.

CyberTeams provides workflow-based applications for web site and web content management. These products work equally well on the World Wide Web and corporate Intranets because they were specifically designed and created to be used with users' web browsers as the application client. And, because CyberTeams participates in web standards organizations, like "World Wide Web Distributed Authoring and Versioning" (WebDAV), we can quickly integrate new standards and technologies into our products.

The Mars Society is a non-profit organization founded to further the goal of the exploration and settlement of the Red Planet. This will be done by using Broad public outreach to instill the vision of pioneering Mars, supporting ever more aggressive government funded Mars exploration programs around the world, and conducting Mars exploration on a private basis. Starting small, with hitchhiker payloads on government funded missions, we intend to use the credibility that such activity will engender to mobilize larger resources that will enable stand-alone private robotic missions and ultimately human exploration.
